Fiat Chrysler head: diesel talks in US are 'intending properly'

Fiat Chrysler's CEO says discussions are "proceeding well" with U.S. environmental authorities to get 2017 diesel models licensed in order that they may be bought.

Sergio Marchionne stated Thursday in a convention name that the organization become "within the midst of some quite extreme discussions" with both the Environmental safety enterprise and the effective California Air resources Board.

He said he hoped discussions over 2017 models will be concluded "particularly quick."

The EPA toughened checking out for diesels from all automakers after Volkswagen become stuck equipping vehicles with software program that allow them cheat on emissions exams. That has saved some of fashions off the marketplace for now.
