Elon Musk Sees brain-computer systems in people' future

In a current tweet, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO teased that a mind-pc device that links human brains to a pc interface — a "neural lace" — may be announced early this year, pronounced TechCrunch. Musk first mentioned the neural lace concept (the addition of a virtual layer of intelligence to the human brain) at Recode’s Code conference closing yr. The mind-pc device might create a"symbiosis with machines," Musk said, according to TechCrunch. [Super-Intelligent Machines: 7 Robotic Futures]

"We’re already a cyborg — I suggest, you've got a digital or partial version of yourself within the form of your emails and your social media and all of the matters that you do, and you've basically superpowers along with your laptop and your cellphone and the programs which can be there," Musk said at the convention.

via building this connection to computer systems, Musk said that people might be capable of hold tempo with advances in artificial intelligence. As complex computers increase digital intelligences, Musk warned that people will be rendered massively inferior.

In comparison to computer systems, Musk stated people' fundamental problem is input/output. The human output level is extraordinarily sluggish — including using two thumbs to type on a cellphone — in keeping with Musk, in contrast to the rate at which people take in facts.

"effectively merging in a symbiotic way with virtual intelligence revolves around casting off the I/O constraint, which could be a few type of direct cortical interface," Musk said.
