Sydney photographer Karl Grenet named Aussie winner of the Sony global image Awards



SYDNEY photographer Karl Grenet has received the Australian name within the prestigious Sony international pictures Awards.
Grenet’s winning photo ‘Escher’s marketplace’ became selected as the single best photo taken through an Australian photographer entered into any of the 10 open classes of the 2015 Sony world images Awards, the arena’s largest pictures opposition.
Grenet is a documentarian and avenue photographer from Sydney who's currently based totally in Northern Thailand.
 “It still hasn’t properly sunk in that i've gained. The pleasant of entries in every Sony global photography Awards is constantly of the very best trendy, and i am deeply honoured and humbled for my picture to be decided on as the winner of the 2015 Australian countrywide Award,” Grenet said.
The winning picture was taken in Mumbai, India.
“I got here across this scene one afternoon in November 2014 at the same time as exploring the mazelike Mirza Ghalib Municipal marketplace inside the Null Bazar area of Mumbai,” Grenet stated.
 “As that is a 24-hour market, the shopkeepers take any viable possibility between income to rest for a few minutes. I chatted with the shopkeepers at this stall for 20 mins, all the even as making images of the scene, without a  photographs being the same due to the consistent movement of shopkeepers going to their own stalls to make a sale, then returning to this stall to rest.”
Runners up for the Australian award have been given to Melbourne photographer Mihai Florea, who become awarded 2nd area, and to Wollongong local Ben McRae, who came in 1/3 region.
The country wide Awards program honours and rewards the high-quality single photo taken by a local photographer and runs the world over from Argentina to Australia. it's miles open to photographers of all abilities.
