At some stage in their experiments, researchers stored
things simple with the aid of the usage of a high overall performance oven on
the ETH in location of sun power. "in the test phase, the actual source of
thermal power is immaterial," explains Matthäus Rothensteiner,
PhD-candidate at the PSI and the ETH Zurich
whose location of responsibility included those tests.
Jeroen van Bokhoven, head of the PSI's Laboratory for
Catalysis and Sustainable Chemistry and Professor for Heterogeneous Catalysis
at the ETH Zurich adds: "those
tests enabled us to benefit precious insights into the catalyst's lengthy-term
stability. Our excessive performance oven allowed us to carry out 59 cycles in
quick succession. Our cloth has with no trouble survived its first endurance
take a look at." Having proven that their process is viable in precept,
researchers can now devote themselves to its optimization.
